Aldo Salazar

Dancer, Choreographer, Architect and Instructor

Aldo Salazar has built an artistic career marked by the exploration of movement as a tool for expression, connection, and awareness. His work uniquely integrates influences from contemporary dance, Afro-Caribbean traditions, popular Latin American rhythms, and salsa—a discipline in which he excels as both a performer and an instructor.

His approach is based on the premise that all dance stems from bodily awareness and the ability to inhabit movement with presence, musicality, and authenticity. As a choreographer, he promotes projects related to human development, personal transformation, and emotional connection, viewing the stage as a meeting point between technique and life experience.

Trained as an architect as well, he has a particular interest in the relationship between the body and physical space. This interdisciplinary perspective enriches his approach to stage composition, fostering a constant dialogue between structure, observation, and intuition in his classes and productions.

Based in the Southern Caribbean region of Costa Rica, his work actively contributes to the promotion of the culture of movement. He has trained dancers of various skill levels and nationalities, promoting a vision of dance that transcends performance to become a practice of self-discovery, identity, and community.
